The logo for Alvarado The logo for Ch

An image of a woman with short brown hair. She is wearing a gold sunglasses, blue striped blazer with a gold dress shirt underneath, a black skirt with a gold chain belt, and black-and-yellow zebra striped boots.
“If you’re after a high-end look, look no further than Alvarado. Exclusive celebrity fashions make for a posh, polished appearance—one that comes at a hefty price. Other clothes may look good when you’re going someplace, but Alvarado is for when you’ve already arrived!” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: high-end, polished, celebrity, posh, exclusive

Luxury exhudes every part of Alvarado - and with many of their items being among some of the most expensive of the game, it is luxury in both aesthetic and pricetag. This brand was succeeded by ZHADE and Enid Chen (JPN: HELGA) in future releases.

My Thoughts: It’s the obligatory bougie fashion house type brand. Some of the styles get really gaudy at times, but for the most part the brand makes very attractive, timeless businesswear type clothing in addition to their more avant garde offerings. I wasn't much of a fan of it as a kid, especially since you had two literal lolita brands among the other choices, but nowadays I've come to like it, even though nowadays most "luxury" brands nowadays is just cheap shit that's branded with some prestigious fashion house so morons think they've made worthwhile purchases. Anyway, Saul Goodman would wear this brand if he was going girlmode.

With the way the game is, Alvarado positions itself as the "endgame" brand (excluding Masquerade), something to save up and look forward to selling when your boutique is super famous and you have lots of money so you can pretend to be styling Miley Cyrus or something. I've found that many customers that enjoy Alvarado also enjoy AZ-USA, and it works good for some filler articles for those big-budget customers when you're inevitably not stocked on the bougie brand.

I've always been a fan of this dress's sparkly pink texture.

April Bonbon Cherry Berry

An image of a woman with brown hair styled in small braided pigtails. She is wearing a colourful outfit with a pink baseball cap that says 'cute' in big, bolded capital letters; a purple and white striped cardigan, geans with a bright cupcake print on it, and green rain boots with pink, yellow, and green hearts.
“Playtime never ends with April Bonbon: a fun, whimsical brand that helps you create a youthful appearance. Let these colorful styles help your inner child come out and play!” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Youthful, sweet, fun, whimsical, playful

Cutesy clothing with loads of bright colors and girly prints. This brand can often be used with (and thus confused with) the brand Dazies due to their similar aesthetic appearance.

My Thoughts: Pretty much anything that can be said about Dazies can be said about this brand as well. I think this brand tends ot have more bright colorblock type articles with playful details, though both brands tend to be pretty similar regardless.

On a metagame level - if you're going for cutesy clothing, this brand and Dazies are no-brainers. They're also fairly cheap to boot.

A screenshot of a grey and pink track jacket. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: April Bonbon 02639. Name: Blouson jacket. Price: $126.00'

This article is surprisingly dark and desaturated compared to April Bonbon's typical offerings. I generally like it.

This beanie has a place in my heart, it's so funky.

AZ-USA AZ-USA

An image of a woman with a brown ponytail. She is wearing a flashy outfit with a black and white baseball cap with gold doodles on the front, orange sunglasses, a shiny pink and white cropped jacket with a cropped leopard print camisole underneath, black studded baggy jeans, and white cowboy boots.
“AZ-USA (pronounced Az-OOO-Sah) offers the largest selection of glitzy clothes and glamorous apparel on the market. With well over 1,000 pieces to mix and match, you’re certain to find countless flashy, sassy styles that compliment your inner “Glamazon.”” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer keywords: Glitzy, glam, flashy, sassy, daring, party, dance

Provocative, bold streetwear with bedazzling sequins and flashy prints evoking imagery that’s peak Y2K/2000’s clubwear.

My Thoughts: Yep, that's the gyaru brand of the funny Japanese dress up game. AZ-USA's catalog of clothes are predominantly full of animal and camo prints, skimpy booty shorts and crop tops, and strange experimentations with denim. The brand is also the resident supplier of clout goggles.

On a metagame level, AZ-USA is a great brand to keep stock of in general: AZ-USA has a ton of articles that share aesthetics with other brands including GXS, April Bonbon, Mad Jack, and Alvarado. Many customers that enjoy those brands will usually be pretty okay with an AZ-USA article. This positions the brand as something that's always good to have a few articles stocked if you're going for those brands as well.

Capsule Capsule Drop

An image of a woman with a dark brown bob. She is wearing a black cap, circular glasses, a black scarf, an orange, black and white sweater, a yellow top, and yellow bootcut jeans with three big buttons on the front.
“Capsule is a unique clothing line that warps you back to those beloved styles of the ’70s. Blend a bit of these geometric, retro fashions into your wardrobe to create fabulous looks for today!” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer keywords: Retro, fab, geometric, pop art, mod

The resident retro brand, withb many articles sporting 60's-70's aesthetics. Succeeded by PopQuiz and eventually replaced with the 80's themed RetroBeat in future releases.

My Thoughts: I generally really like this brand! Like GXS, it's rather unfortunate that the entire 60's-70's aesthetic is entirely phased out in the later games, especially with the increasing interest in thrifting and the styles of the time in general in recent years.

Articles of Interest

Capsule is the only brand where you can find these circle glasses/sunglasses.

Dazies Lovits

An image of a woman with blond curly pigtails. She is wearing a bright pink leopard print fedora, a pair of pink heart-shaped sunglasses, a pair of short orange plaid overalls with a blue and orange printed tank top underneath, black and orange socks, and blue rain boots with frog faces on the front.
“The second-largest clothing brand around, Dazies offers a wide assortment of colorful, quirky styles that let you create wild, vibrant looks. Make a statement with Dazies and turn some heads with these pop fashions” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Youthful, sweet, fun, whimsical, playful

Bright, whimsical prints and cutesy are Dazies's motto. Absorbed into April Bonbon in later releases.

My Thoughts: I tend to mix this brand up with April Bonbon a lot. I think with Dazies specifically, they go for more of a Decora-Kei type aesthetic that's incredibly bright and maximalist. Still, this brand was phased out with its articles added to April Bonbon's catalogue in later titles - presumably due to this confusion. Still, I do think the brand is very fun with more of a focus on quirky and vibrant prints and patterns.

Articles of Interest

Dazies carries a wide range of funky plaid overalls.

GXS GMS

An image of a woman with spiky brown hair in a ponytail. She is wearing sporty pink and green shades, a pink, black and white cropped racing jacket, a white shirt with green lines across the collar, black and green cropped sweatpants, green socks and white and pink sneakers.
“Always on the go? Keep your active lifestyle going full speed with GXS, a sporty clothing line with a wide selection of stylish activewear and sleek performance apparel!” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Sporty, athletic, active (wear)

The archetypical sports brand of Style Savvy. This brand has all the spandex, sneakers, and sports bras anyone looking to be stylishly sporty would need.

My Thoughts: The loss of GXS/Streetflow is incredibly frustrating especially with the popularisation of Athleisure as a style over the mid-to-late 2010’s into the 2020’s. If I had to guess, though, it may simply be because sporty brands aren’t exactly considered appealing to the demographics they were going for with these games.

Can’t say I helped with this case - I never really cared about this brand as a kid (ew, sportsball clothes), but playing it again as an adult? I've really grown to appreciate the brand. There's a lot of really great articles that this brand carries. Plus, the brand is pretty affordable, and those that like AZ-USA or April Bonbon typically won't be too unhappy with some GXS. It's a good brand to keep extras of.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a pink and white racing cropped jacket. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: GXS 13398. Name: Racing bolero jacket. Price: $210.00'

I just like these jackets, they're cool.

A screenshot of green camo-printed high-tops. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: GXS 03336. Name: Camo high-tops. Price: $57.00'

Not only does GXS carry sportswear, but they also carry some nice looking high-tops.

Karamomo Karamomo

An image of a woman with long grey hair. She is wearing a yellow short-sleeved top with a cherry blossom print, a short printed scarf, and a pair of long, black flared pants with floral prints at the bottom.
"Karamomo is a unique clothing brand specializing in Asian-inspired styles. If you’re yearning for a look of the Far East, look no further than Karamomo!" - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer keywords: Asian fusion, Far East, Eastern, Japanese, Chinese, Thai

Silken shirts and patterned cheongsam tops echo inspirations of traditional Chinese and Japanese clothing. Succeeded by Kanokoi in later titles.

My Thoughts: I'm not sure how I feel about lumping various clothing inspired by eastern Asian countries under a singular brand. As such, I feel kind of frustrated by the execution of this particular brand? This does make me wish we got to see brands or clothing inspired by other countries though. In later entries of the series, this brand carries kimonos in addition to their other offerings.

Metagame-wise, most people that like Terra will like Karamomo. I've also had a fair bit of success with certain articles working well for AZ-USA enjoyers.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a shiny orange and white cropped jacket with flower motifs embroidered on it. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Karamomo 00519. Name: Peony blouson jacket. Price: $238.00'

I'm a sucker for these blouson jackets.

A screenshot of a pair of dark wash jeans with light stitching and butterfly motifs embroidered on it. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Karamomo 00181. Name: Butterfly jeans. Price: $70.00'

Their butterfly jeans are super Y2K.

Mad-Jack Jack-tar

An image of a woman with long brown hair. She is wearing a studded white cap, a red and black stripped cropped shirt underneath a darker red and black stripped jacket, red and black plaid pants with a belt strap attached to the front, and black and white boots.
"Show off your rebellious side with Mad-Jack’s trademark fashions. Whether you’re going to a punk-rock show or just making a statement, Mad-Jack has the edgy styles you need for a tough, outrageous appearance." - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer keywords: Punk, rebel, rebellious, edgy, outrageous, tough

The archetypical Hot Topic clone of the franchise, Mad-Jack has everything a scene kid would ever want - lots of plaid, more belts than a Kingdom Hearts character, and funky chains and black and accent-color type articles. Succeeded by Stage Dive in later titles.

My Thoughts: There is something to be said about the commodification of punk as a political belief into a digestible aesthetic stripped of its original meaning. Still, Mad Jack bangs. It's easily one of my favorite brands in the games for simply having a very unique aesthetic that isn't watered down in later entries like AZ-USA. They have a lot of very fun and edgy prints, too. The later games ramp up the focus on music with instrument cases for bags.

Metagame-wise, customers that like AZ-USA or Raven Candle will typically end up liking Mad Jack as well. The brand also tends to go pretty well with Penbridge.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a fluffy black jacket with multiple zippers and studs. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Mad-Jack 02153. Name: Jackrabbit hoodie. Price: $100.00'

You can't go wrong with the cute-and-edgy black and red bunny rabbit hoodie.

A screenshot of a denim overall dress with light grey stitching and a chain across the hip. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Mad-Jack 00165. Name: Chained overall skirt. Price: $99.00'

My girlfriend wants one of these.

Marble Lily Marble Lily

An image of a woman with curly brown hair. She is wearing a tiny pink top hat with a ribbon tied around her head, a pink plaid dress with bows, a pink shawl, and frilly pink boots.
"Rescue your inner princess with Marble Lily, a frilly clothing line with girly garments that help you create a fanciful style. No prince can resist his Marble Lily maiden!" - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Fanciful, frilly, girly, princess

One of the two lolita-styled brands of the franchise, Marble Lily carries sweet lolita offerings.

My Thoughts: This brand and Raven Candle are probably what introduced many 20-30 year old American Lolitas to the fashion. And how could you not - you could look like a princess! While Marble Lily (and Raven Candle) does have issues with silhouettes (Most bottoms in the game hit at the hip, making for some awkwardly long torso action for the likes of the two Lolita brands), there’s very little to not like about this brand. It’s super frilly and fun. I do wish we had more Classic Lolita options, though, as most of Marble Lily’s offerings are predominantly Sweet Lolita with some pieces encroaching into Hime territory.

Besides the given of Raven Candle enjoyers liking Marble Lily and vice versa, most customers that like April Bonbon will like Marble Lily.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a pink shawl with a bow in the middle. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Marble Lily 00343. Name: Bow-front cape. Price: $132.00'

Marble Lily doing their part to bring capes back into fashion.

A screenshot of a pair of pink Mary Janes with heart-shaped buckles. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Marble Lily 00450. Name: Baby Mary Janes. Price: $116.00'

The shoes this brand carries looks fantastic when playing on an emulator and the model rendering is upscaled.

Masquerade Ranunculus

An image of a woman with short brown hair. She is wearing a cowboy costume with a red hat and a buckled red skirt.
"Masquerade is a one-of-a-kind clothing brand that specializes in rare costume pieces. Though some Masquerade items can be found at the buyer’s center, the pieces are more easily obtained as prizes when you win fashion contests...
...Collect Masquerade costumes to wear at fun parties and costume events!" - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Costume, rare, distinct, theatrical, one-of-a-kind, fantasy, pretend

The fancy schmancy cosplay brand of the game. Whether you're a cowboy connoisseur or a rosy princess, Masquerade has you covered. Succeeded by Purple Moon in future releases.

My Thoughts: This brand is rather unique as rather than having a particular aesthetic, the brand carries high-end costume pieces. It's also rather difficult to find the brand in the Buyer's Center - they only appear at random, or on certain holidays like Christmas. As such, the best and most consistent way of obtaining Masquerade pieces is through winning fashion contests.

Metagame wise, as cool as they are, it's kind of a pain in the butt to sell Masquerade pieces. They are all extremely expensive, selling for $799 a piece, so your only way of actually selling the items are to keep your eyes peeled for very wealthy customers or to just use them on mannequins. As such, I wouldn't recommend trying to rely on Masquerade pieces to turn a profit.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a small gold crown with a white bottom, with a ribbon that wraps around the mannequin's head. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Masquerade 13507. Name: Contest crown. Price: $7992.00'

The logically most expensive item in the game. You cannot sell these - rather you get one when you beat the game.

A screenshot of a pair of orange gloves in the shape of cat paws. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Masquerade 03174. Name: Paw gloves (cat). Price: $799.00'

Masquerade lets you be a kitty cat. Meow.

Penbridge Terse

An image of a woman with a dark brown bob. She is wearing a yellow short sleeved button up with a red plaid vest on top, a red plaid skirt that goes down to the knee, white leg warmers, and dark leather loafers.
"Make a smart, snappy appearance with Penbridge. This popular clothing line offers a wide selection of modest, preppy pieces that help you pull off a dapper style." - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Preppy, smart, snappy, modest, dapper

The obligatory prep school uniform slash bookworm type brand.

My Thoughts: Ironically, this brand tends to be among the less dated brands in the game what with the proliferation of the Academia and Dark Academia aesthetics. This brand's offerings are practically an ocean of plaid. Still, it's generally a pretty good brand to carry.

Most customers that like Epoque will like Penbridge. I've also have had some customers that like Mad Jack and April Bonbon like certain Penbridge pieces that match their aesthetics as well.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a pair of black high heeled boots with gold buttons that go up the calf. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Penbridge 03702. Name: Button-up stilleto boots. Price: $158.00'.

I remember wanting these boots so, so bad as a kid.

A screenshot of a purple plaid beret. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Penbridge 04011. Name: Tartan beret. Price: $58.00'

I just like this hat.

Pure Cloth Plain Cloth

A screenshot of a woman with long curly blonde hair. She is wearing a white t-shirt underneath a black sweater, jeans, and grey socks.
"Living stylishly can be hectic at times, but Pure Cloth helps you keep things simple. This brand’s essential selection of solid-color pieces can be combined in many ways to build clean, versatile looks." - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Basic, simple, essential, solid colors, versatile

The bog standard basic brand with basic offerings that fit in most "normal" people's closets. Succeeded by Über Cloth and Basic U (JPN: Double U) in future releases.

My Thoughts: A lot of players tend to overlook this brand because why would you want to dress normal when you could dress like a celebrity, or like a gothic princess? However, regardless of your style, Pure Cloth is a return to form. The kinds of stuff you'd wear on a weekend chilling at home. It's what the "normal" kids wore because this game's release was literally during the 2008 housing crisis and mom and dad can't afford the cool kid clothes.

It's always wise to have some Pure Cloth clothing in hand as customers that like most brands that aren't too flashy - Penbridge, Sonata, Epoque, or GXS - will not mind this brand. However, it is important to note that this brand does not carry shoes - any of those brands make for good stand-ins.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a brown denim jacket. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Pure Cloth 06269. Name: Basic jean jacket. Price: $31.00'

The jean jackets in this game are so, so of it's time.

A screenshot of a pair of low-cut jeans. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Pure Cloth 06361. Name: Basic jeans. Price: $31.00'

The Levi's stand-in will never let you down.

Raven Candle Raven Candle

An image of a woman with long, dark brown curly hair. She is wearing a tiny dark red top hat with straps that go around the head, a green buttoned blouse underneath a cropped red cardigan, a dark red hoopskirt with little strawberries printed on it, black tights, and black and green platform heels.
"Shroud yourself in mystery and create a sense of intrigue with the styles of Raven Candle. Many of this brand’s pieces are inspired by the Victorian era and combine to form dark, Gothic looks." - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Goth, Gothic, dark, mysterious, Victorian

The supplier of all things gothic lolita, Raven Candle is for self-proclaimed vampires and dark princesses.

My Thoughts: This is probably my favorite brand in this game, period. I have a love for goth styles in general, even though I think I'm more a metalhead than I ever will be a goth (Master Boot Record enjoyers, anyone?), and this game was the reason I found my love for gothic aesthetics and especially gothic lolita. This shit will never not be cool.

Mad Jack enjoyers will like Raven Candle, as well as customers donning Marble Lily.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a long black sleeveless dress. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Raven Candle 00917. Name: Goth-ball formal dress. Price: $169.00'

I looooved this dress as a kid, even though it would look like hot dog water on me now.

A screenshot of a pair of black and green platform heels. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Raven Candle 03615. Name: Ankle-strap platforms. Price: $66.00'

Their ankle platforms are sooo cute!

Sonata Soprano

An image of a woman with long curly blonde hair. She is wearing a black turtleneck underneath a long-sleeved purple shirt, a red skirt, and white boots.
"Create a soft appearance with the sophisticated styles of Sonata. You’ll feel graceful and elegant in this brand’s dainty fabrics and refined pieces" - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer keywords: Soft, refined, graceful, sophisticated, dainty, elegant

The archetypical "feminine" brand. Succeeded by Chorale in future releases.

My Thoughts: I don't really have any strong feelings either way about this brand - I had some issues differentiating it with Epoque when I was a kid, but the brands are fairly unique from one another. Many of their offerings tend to be dated now, but generally they are very feminine fashions for those looking for a more older looking style without encroaching on the grandma territory that Epoque lays claim to.

Customers that like Epoque or Penbridge will like Sonata. I've also had Alvarado-enjoying customers like Sonata styles as well.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a pair of low-cut distressed jeans. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Sonata 01014. Name: Spot-faded jeans. Price: $79.00'

These jeans scream 2000's. I can't think of a girl from when I grew up that didn't wear these and end up getting the bottom parts of the legs soaking wet.

A screenshot of a grey jacket with a beige fur collar. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Sonata 03042. Name: Fur-collar jacket. Price: $151.00'

This coat looks great when rendered in an emulator, wowza.

Terra Hippopotomus

An image of a woman with brown hair. She is wearing a red, white, green and red beanie, a black and white shirt underneath a green knit cardigan, and tie-dyed jeans.
"Let your free spirit loose with some cool new threads from Terra. This brand’s earthy styles and flowing garments create a look of boho-chic fashion." - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer Keywords: Earthy, free-spirited, boho-chic, flowing

The earthy, boho-chic type brand. All natural materials, earthy color palettes, and drapey silhouettes for the discerning hippies and weed enjoyers. Succeeded by Soymilk and Soy in future releases.

My Thoughts: This is another brand I'm very mixed on, mainly due to the fact that this brand uses a lot of "tribal" motifs and beaded articles that take inspiration from traditional Native American fashions - something that was heavily appropriated by large fashion brands into the 2010's. That's not to say that wearing clothing that uses those motifs is bad, rather it's important to be aware of who or what it is that's making and profiting off of these pieces.

I've found many customers that like Karamomo or Capsule will like Terra. Like Karamomo, they are also a very affordable brand to stock up on.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a long pink skirt. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Terra 00394. Name: Color-block long skirt. Price: $5.00'

Terra carries a wealth of long maxi skirts.

A screenshot of a yellow, white, and green camisole that appears tie-dyed. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Terra 00838. Name: Tie-dye-stripe camisole. Price: $30.00'

They also carry a lot of tie-dye articles.

Epoque Nostalgic

An image of a woman with long, grey hair. She is wearing a pastel orange beanie, a light green shirt with polka-dots under a pastel orange cardigan, a white skirt, and yellow flats.
“Journey back to a gentler era with Epoque, a delicate clothing line devoted to vintage looks. Let Epoque help you create sentimental ensembles that bring out your subtle sense of style.” - Style Savvy Prima Guide

Customer keywords: Vintage, delicate, sentimental, gentle

The "mature", older counterpart to Sonata. Succeeded by Cantata Modo and merged with Chorale in future releases.

My Thoughts: I kind of dislike this brand? It could be that I just have bad luck with the Buyer's Center, but this brand is very limited in articles of clothing that I really like. It could be that they tend to be lacking on pants or just look like something grandmas wear, but generally, this brand is a snoozer. It's no wonder that it was absorbed into Chorale (Sonata's successor) in later titles.

Customers that like Capsule, Penbridge or Sonata will like Epoque.

Articles of Interest

A screenshot of a grey dress with puffed sleeves. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Epoque 00159. Name: Puffed-sleve dress. Price: $100.00'

I really like this dress. It's simple and not too dated.

A screenshot of a pair of pink boots with white fluffy trim. Below is a tag that says 'Brand: Epoque 13091. Name: Sheepskin boots. Price: $55.00'

This brand also carries the equivalent of Ugg boots!
